The seller hereby guarantees that the diamonds are conflict free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds.

Diamond Grading

Aquae Jewels Diamonds Grading relies, like most of the Diamonds professionals, on the grading system developed by GIA, which established the use of four important factors to describe and classify diamonds: Clarity, Color, Cut, and Carat Weight.

These are known as the 4Cs. When used together, they describe the quality of a finished diamond.

The diamond color evaluation of most gem-quality diamonds is based on the absence of color. A chemically pure and structurally perfect diamond has no hue, like a drop of pure water. “Aqua” actually means “water” in the ancient Latin language.  GIA’s D-to-Z diamond color-grading system measures the degree of colorlessness by comparing a stone under controlled lighting and precise viewing conditions to masterstones of established color value.

Many of these diamond color distinctions are so subtle that they are invisible to the untrained eye; however, these distinctions make a big difference in diamond quality and value.

At Aquae Jewels, we use the gems with colors G-H

Diamond clarity refers to the absence of inclusions and blemishes. Evaluating diamond clarity involves determining the number, size, nature and position of the characteristics, and how the affect the appearance of the gem.  At Aquae Jewels, we use stones with clarity of VS1 or SI2, which gives a very shinny appearance, especially on the smaller gems that are used for most designs from Aquae Jewels.

Besides the clarity and the color, the 3rd dimension is Cut.  Diamonds are renowned for their ability to transmit light and sparkle so intensely. We often think of a diamond’s cut as shape (round, heart, oval, marquise, pear), but a diamond’s cut grade is really about how well a diamond’s facets interact with light.  This makes a big difference for brightness and scintillation between Excellent and Poor Cut.  At Aquae Jewels, we use the gems with Good cut.

Carat weight

The last dimension is obviously the Carat weight, giving the dimension of the stone, which can vary slightly based on the cut.

Diamond Shape

Aquae Jewels uses diamonds of different shapes for its many jewellery designs.  See the chart for the different shapes we use.
